Bank Holiday weekend

This is a long weekend, we have Monday off as it is Bank Holiday. We were told on Friday that the inspectors are back on the 28th. Same two days as before and one is my big day. Bad luck! Best not start thinking about it, I think! Greata at the cinema

On Friday, we saw a really good film: Brokeback Mountain, it’s a love story between two gay men but it is much more than this. You get beautiful scenery and music, and the acting is superb. I really enjoyed it. And yesterday I finished Catherine’s site. She is a member of my PSP 4 ALL group and got married yesterday. Most of the members made a little giftie for her and I put it all together for her. It is here if you want a little peep:

I also installed a plugin to rotate some of my favourite signatures at the moment. Refresh or go to a different page and you will see a different one each time. Last night we went for a pizza but with money this time! LOL! We got up early today to go and do the shopping and when we got back I just worked in PSP. I made some desktop calendars and mini-calendars. I just have to update my New IM Letters page and send my newsletter and I will be done. I will try to do this later on after dinner. I have some work to do tomorrow for school and we have some more people viewing the house. So a good lazy weekend! I hope yours is nice too.

Eating with no money to pay

[en]

Ian et moi mangeons au restaurant sans avoir d'argent pour payer. Maison vendue? Alors on va où, nous?

[a]

Just a quick one before going to work. a long day today. I am teaching all day and then we have a meeting after school. Something “funny” happened when we went for a meal on my birthday. We had our meal and we got on really well with our waitress. She was friendly and easy to chat to. She had just come back from India. When it came to paying, Ian realized he did not have his wallet. And that evening I had decided not to take my bag.
So here we were, with no money for our meal. It was so embarrassing, and I had that nagging thought at the back of my mind, that she would think we had been nice all through the meal because we knew we did not have the money! Actually Ian was quite worried because he did not know whether it had been stolen and he does carry a lot of cards! So cancelling all those cards would have been a big job!
We got home, looked around, Ian phoned the last place he could remember having used his wallet but no luck. By then he thought it was lost but then we found it. That was a relief! That has never ever happened to me before. Being somewhere and not having the money to pay!
On a different subject..the people who came to view on Tuesday are interested in buying our house and have made an offer. They have sold theirs. But we still do not know where to go….

My birthday

Mon anniversaire! On va célébrer ça ce soir. Parce que ce matin, c'est boulot comme d'habitude!

Another one! When I mentioned it to my Year 9 yesterday, one of them said Egg and Flour. What a treat for somebody’s birthday that is! Of course when they do this at our school, the pupils get sent home! And No, they don’t do it to teachers. I wonder where this tradition of Egging and Flouring somebody comes from. Can’t be much fun for the recipient.
We went back to school yesterday. It is never easy to go back and this half-term will be busy with Year 11 sitting their French Orals. But it is easier to get up in the morning as it is lighter.
