Notre anniversaire de mariage: on part au pays de Galles pour marquer le coup! Steph va mieux. Et Kim s′est trouvé un super boulot! Je me suis refait des mèches!

We are off to Wales: Llandudno for the weekend as it is our anniversary on Sunday! So I hope it does not rain, I don’t mind if there is not much sun but please No Rain!
Steph is much better, she is now walking fine and the wound is healing well. (Nikki – at the hospital she was given antibiotics intraveinously, I guess a stronger mixture than the ones she was given originally – she had been given two lots to take but they were not working).
Kim has had some fantastic news today. She has been looking at jobs because she was bored in hers, not enough to do! She went for a first interview last week with a parametric test and got through. Then had two more today Friday and was told she would know at the beginning of next week. But the agency phoned her at 5 and told her they wanted her! We are so very pleased for her! She will be able to use her French, it’s very close to where she lives and in London that matters as transport is so costly and she is getting a massive increase in salary. She will have four people reporting to her too! So that should keep her on her toes! Well done Kim!
I have had my hair highlighted. It’s years since I had it done! I was a bit worried about it but the result is great!

Steph and a nasty bite

Our youngest was bitten by an insect on the ankle and then a couple of weeks later her ankle was so swollen that she went to the hospital to have it seen. They put her on antibiotics and told her to come back a couple of days later if there was no improvement! They drew on her leg to mark where the swelling was that day. The following day despite the strong antibiotics she was on, it was much worse. So she went back to the hospital and they hospitalized her straightaway! She was diagnosed with cellulitis and you would not believe how bad her foot was! She could not walk on it and it was enormous! The day she was discharged, the wound started to suppurate and from then on she just went back to the hospital to have the dressing changed! She was on crutches for a while but today she is walking without them, and the swelling has gone right down. She still needs a dressing on the wound but I don’t know what it is like because I don’t want to look!
We will never know what insect it was but it must have been carrying some bad muck for her to have had such a bad reaction to it! Still she is better and that is what matters! And we are pleased that she did not wait and went back the following day! It could have been much worse!
