Arrived yesterday in Lyon where I will stay until the 18th. I am visiting my mum! The weather is not very nice but it’s not important, it’s just nice to see the family again. We went for lunch to my niece’s who has just moved into a new flat! The food was superb : aperitif with champagne and amuse-gueule; grilled foie gras with ham & salad; duck with mushrooms and chestnuts and pollenta; cheese and raspberry tart!

I haven’t written in here for a long time! I keep forgetting. Not much new I guess. I have settled well into this new life of not working and do not miss work at all. I am so relaxed now, not that I was ever stressed. But it is lovely not to have any deadlines and do things in your own time. I also like getting up late, I have always liked that! I have joined the local gym last May and I now go regularly, I try to go 4 times a week, but have at times gone 5. I work out for just over 1 and 1/2 hours every day. I do like it, makes you feel really good!
This padt weekend we went to the Pead Districs: Dovedale and Heights of Abraham! We were so lucky with the weather! It was perfect for walking, blue skies but not too hot! I had not been to the Peak Districs for a very long time and I had forgotten how beautiful it is! We had great walk along the river, it’s about 7 miles, I even crossed on the famous Stepping Stones! Weekends away like this are great. Of course it’s a break in the daily routine but it’s nice to go back to an unspoilt environment. Nature is so beautiful at this time of year with the leaves so richly coloured.
This coming weekend we are off to London to visit Kim & Damien. On Saturday, we will have a meat fondue, haven’t had one of those for years and years!
I have changed the look in here, contacted Sev who made me this lovely theme! I love it! Thank you, Sev.

We are off to Wales: Llandudno for the weekend as it is our anniversary on Sunday! So I hope it does not rain, I don’t mind if there is not much sun but please No Rain!
Steph is much better, she is now walking fine and the wound is healing well. (Nikki – at the hospital she was given antibiotics intraveinously, I guess a stronger mixture than the ones she was given originally – she had been given two lots to take but they were not working).
Kim has had some fantastic news today. She has been looking at jobs because she was bored in hers, not enough to do! She went for a first interview last week with a parametric test and got through. Then had two more today Friday and was told she would know at the beginning of next week. But the agency phoned her at 5 and told her they wanted her! We are so very pleased for her! She will be able to use her French, it’s very close to where she lives and in London that matters as transport is so costly and she is getting a massive increase in salary. She will have four people reporting to her too! So that should keep her on her toes! Well done Kim!
I have had my hair highlighted. It’s years since I had it done! I was a bit worried about it but the result is great!
